ABOUT ME

_DSC2033-2[1].jpg

I have enjoyed and been involved in art since I was young with the influence of my Grandmother. Guided by my mother, I began sewing clothes when I was 10 years old, gradually progressing to tailoring and much later, children’s clothes for my grandchildren. Embroidery, especially counted cross stitch, open work and pulled thread has been a joy and challenge to learn. I even gave jewelry making a try.

Bringing all of these elements together has brought me full circle. It has been very enjoyable and satisfying to combine sewing, embroidery and beading to create the details that go into a scarf or purse. I enjoy the feel or “hand” of the textiles and using small seed beads for emphasis and embellishment.

I have discovered the joy of working with Cork and Japanese Kimono fabrics. They are so unique and have wonderful colors, textures and weave. Handwoven fabrics from India and Guatemala become beautiful designs as well.

It is gratifying to know people enjoy using what I create as much as I enjoy creating them.
